Ok, everyone get your torches and pitchforks ready. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback divulged some information about last week’s game that is almost sure to befuddle fans and enrage critics of Steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin. According to Steelers writer Chris Adamski, Roethlisberger said that Tomlin told him that if Pittsburgh won the toss he wanted the team to defer and give the Bears the football first in overtime. Yes, you read that right. As it worked out the Bears actually won the toss. But they quickly marched down the field and won the game. Coaches who have deferred in overtime become the butt of endless jokes. It’s impossible to know what Tomlin’s motives were here but

Id say that before actually knowing if thats true, i.e. have Tomlin confirm it, I would doubt the validity of that.

Torches and pitchforks? For a "what if?"

There are enough things to be upset about that game than to get upset about things that never happened.

    1) I do not trust Ben's account. He is a drama queen. May be true, may not be.

    2) It is defensible. The D was lights out in the second half and offense pathetic. Possibly get short field and the opportunity to win with just a FG.

    3) Tomlin is always criticized for not being Belichick, so it should be known that Belly chose to kick after winning the OT coin toss against the Jets in 2015.

If true I still think it's a dumb idea. Sorry. I don't care what belichik did nor do I expect Tomlin to be Belichik. I just don't think Ben would like about it.

I wouldn't like the decision either but just saying that I can at least see the rationale. It would be wrong, in my opinion, but not crazy.
