I dont know if arrogance is the word....wanting to see the bengals in the playoffs isnt arrogant of gilbert.

Steelers are a playoff caliber team that may not make the post season....although I believe in Rexual Harassment

They have weather the injury storm exceptionally well, and they cant really be arrogant when everyone out there is saying this is a team no one wants to see in the tournament because they are dangerous.

Damn shame the scobee fiasco is whats going to hurt them the most, ben had a bad time to have bad game....but divisional games truly are a wildcard no matter the situation. Ask the mighty seahawks who were beat down by the lowly rams.

Ravens wont be a pushover for Cincy either, they arent a good team but they are a competitive one. Sucks following up such brilliance vs denver with a dud against baltimore, but its not over.

I'd let him have a free go at my feet if the Bills win.

Just root for the Bills to beat the Jets. I no longer have faith in Tomlin's coaching, or this whole coaching staff. The guy can't win games when it matters.

Yeah it certainly didn't matter the previous week against Denver. There's plenty of criticism to go around, but that's a weird one. You'd say December football is "when it counts" right? The home stretch, fighting for a playoff spot/playoff positioning... They were like 11-0 their last 11 games in December before Baltimore.

I think there may be some truth to this article. I think the Steelers have always been able to get up for good teams, relish the underdog role, but pull a flat, stinker against lesser teams. That's the arrogance part. Almost like the other teams are gonna just let them steamroll them because the big bad Steelers showed up.
Some of that falls on Tomlin for sure. But this article was written after one of the worst losses and worst performances, in one of the biggest games. So all other positives are thrown out the window!
    Positives:
Potential 10 win season with hardest schedule in the league.
Beat 3 division leaders (bengals, Broncos, cardinals)
Has a defense that everyone knows is average at best, yet only gives up 20.5 per game. We all expect them to give up 28 or more.
Was without Ben for 4.75 games...went 3-2, should have been 4-1(scobee).
Injuries to their starting kicker, QB, ILB, and RB.
Suspensions to starting RB and WR.
    And so on...

Last year I thought the Steelers overachieved and were one year ahead of schedule on the rebuild!

This year, they dealt with so much adversity that a playoff trip would be almost miraculous.

This team, while having its warts, and is still in the rebuild process, is trending upward...and quicker than I imagined.

That's why last week's game was so devastating. It derailed all the momentum that they had built in overcoming all the obstacles thrown at them.

It's tough to be patient. We are a spoiled fan base, and I make no apologies for that! We've been to the top of the mountain more than any other team the in the last 50 years. With success comes greater expectations.

At the beginning of the year I said that if this defense could play league average, we should contend. The defense has held their end of the bargain.
The offense has not. Weather it be Haley calling dumb drive killing plays, Tomlin making dumb decisions (fake FG, going for it on 4th downs, calling poor plays on said 4th downs, etc.), kickers missing routine FGs, or the franchise QB playing like $hit at the worst possible time...we find ourselves where we are.

My biggest beef with Tomlin is the apparent lack of team discipline and focus. The Steelers should not have lost to the Ravens last week...or earlier in the year for that matter.

But I have a feeling that we will find our way in the playoffs next week. The Steelers beat the Browns...the bills beat the jets...have faith my brothers and sisters! When we are in...we won't be an easy out!

The reason "we always lose to inferior teams" is because the last few years we were an inferior team. 9-7 and 8-8 teams lose some of those games.

I get that but...Last year we lost to the 2-14 Bucs and the 4-12 jets. Just saying...
Plus, it's not like these "inferior teams" play out of their mind...we play pretty poorly in those games.

Yea and they're like 1-14 against sub .200 teams and 4-11 against sub .500 teams over the past seasons. The games that the Steelers should dominate that would be the icing on the cake getting into the playoffs. But, we always seem unprepared and Ben seems to shit the bed against sub .500 teams. Kinda sucks that we're 3-8 out of the last 11 against Baltimore as well. But, Harbough is a better coach than Tomlin, at least I believe so.

If it is true that we are 3-8 against the Ravens, then this reinforces my earlier post. No one is saying Tomlin is a bad coach, but he and his coaching staff seem to struggle with bad teams. The ravens had won five games the whole season, and almost half were against us.

but if tomlin led a 4-12 win team and two of the wins came against baltimore he would get a pass like harbaugh right? lol

Every single time we lose there are fans trying to make this argument. "They were unprepared" "Tomlin didn't have this team prepared"... Can anyone, ANYONE give me some examples of what made this team "unprepared" last week? You know what I saw? A defense give up only 20 points, with an offense which has been averaging 35 PPG the last six games, fall apart against a terrible defense because Ben played terribly... (Haley calling a shit game didn't help).

No more cliches... HOW were they unprepared? Unprepared because they missed a 4th and inches on the first drive? Because Ben threw I don't even remember how many stupid picks and missed I don't know how many throws? Unprepared because the defense gave up only 20 points? Doesn't matter who is at QB or how shitty the other offense is. There's NO reason we should ever lose to a team with a shitty defense (or any team for that matter), if the D gives up only 20 points. I'd actually argue the complete opposite. They seemed super prepared to start the game to me (on offense). They knew exactly what Baltimore was doing defensively the first two drives and ******* gashed them. The drives ended in a blown forth and inches and a field goal after a questionable overturn of a TD called on the field (ask Mike Pereira if he would've overturned that).

Let's see what Ramon Foster had to say...
    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-blame-coaches-for-latest-loss-to-a-bad-team/

But hey... Who gives a shit what any of the players say, right? Ben played a putrid ball game and they lost to a sub-.500 team so... Unprepared.

I still say AB was robbed of a TD but still the offense should have scored....I thought Bryant played like crap as well....He looked lost on that one deep ball....

If the Steelers miss the play-offs thats 3 out of 4 since 2012....Mike Tomlin deserves some blame or gets a free pass?

If Tomlin was on his 4th QB, he wouldn't win anything. Harbaugh didn't do to bad this season despite how many injuries they had to that team, only losing most of them games by 3 points or fewer.

Yes, I would be happy as hell if Tomlins team would beat the Ravens, He's only done it 3 out of the past 11 games vs. the Ravens.

If we miss again this year or make it and don't win a game.

It will be 5 years since our last playoff victory.

    Ben Roethlisberger
    Bruce Gradkowski
    Mike Vick
    Landry Jones

Should have been 4-1 with 3rd and 4th string QB if not for Scobee

And I would also point out that the Ravens did not begin losing all of their players (with the exception of Suggs) until after the first time we played them.

And if we do get in and win a playoff game, it will be "_ years since we got to the AFC Championship game", then "_years since a Super Bowl", etc. It is not like cherry picking stats will stop.
