We have a big time game ahead of us, and I'm not sure I've ever felt so good about a Ravens game in my life. Yes, we have some injuries (Coates and Green are officially Doubtful, Tuitt is Questionable), but Baltimore's offense, and specifically Joe "guys I swear I'm elite" Flacco, scares no one and their defense, while top notch, is going to be missing their best CB, Jimmy Smith. Meaning Rookie Tavon Young, who's been solid but is still a rookie, and Shareece Wright, who has given up 6 TDs in Baltimore's last 10 games, will be their starting CBs. We have to take advantage of that. If the O line holds up against Baltimore's pass rush, and can provide even a little push in the run game for Bell, I don't see us having any trouble putting points on the board.

The biggest factor here, IMO, is that this game is at Heinz Field. I would not be confident at all if this game were in Baltimore given Ben's road woes this season. I expect Big Ben and the offense to put up some points.

Defensively, who would've thought just over a month ago that we'd be talking about this defense in a positive way. IMO, limiting the big plays down field, stopping the run, and making Joe Flacco beat us on third down is how we win this game defensively.

I can't say enough about these rookies and their progression. Artie Burns struggled early, and will have his moments, but his athleticism, instincts, and ability to track the ball have been evident since he's gotten more comfortable in the defense. I will be honest, I disliked the Burns pick when it was made. I didn't think it was a "panic" move like some did, but what I saw coming out of Miami was an extremely raw, gifted athlete who didn't really know how to play the position. I am blown away by the strides he's made in such little time and will gladly eat crow. If he keeps going the way he is, the sky is the limit.

Sean Davis. I don't even know where to start here. Sean Davis was thrown into the fire as their starting nickel back while also being required to know the SS position. He struggled, understandably so. Since overtaking Robert Golden as the starting SS, and playing exclusively there, he's not only completely taken a stranglehold on the job, but he's far and away exceeded my expectations for his rookie year. I liked the pick, but I thought he'd need some time. I'm pretty sure that he has played every single defensive snap during our 5 game win streak. While also playing special teams. Super exciting.

Another huge factor that cannot be overlooked is that the emergence of Burns and Davis has allowed us to shift William Gay back to the slot in nickel sets where he thrives. So huge.

Can't forget the big boy Javon Hargrave. "He is who we thought he was!" *insert Dennis Green voice* and that's not a negative thing. Playing in a small program Hargrave did exactly what he was supposed to do... he dominated. I like to refer to him and mini Aaron Donald just because of some of the things that man can do from his DT position.

I couldn't be more excited to see where this group goes down the line. If we're being honest, the don't even know what they're doing yet and that's exciting.

It's the Baltimore Ravens vs the Pittsburgh Steelers, in December, with an AFC North title on the line. If that doesn't make your balls tingle, I don't know what will.

All I want for Christmas is a Steelers win on Christmas Day.

    Steelers 23
    Ravens 16

I am amazed at myself at even typing this, but I never would have thought in week , for example, that I am more worried about the DL in week 16 than the secondary. I know the DL weakness is because of injury, but the strides taken by the secondary caught me completely by surprise.

That's why I do worry that the Purple Browns will be able to run on us. I still think 27-17 good guys.

Anyone see the rant by Steven A Smith along with McNabb and some white guy (link over at Depot)? It outlines perfectly why I hate national sportswriters. They are all frauds. Smith is a clown, but the white guy kept insisting that our secondary was one of the worst in the league. It's like he heard someone else say it in week 6 and figures it still must be true.

    ESPN is completely unwatchable.

McNabb is a kook too. A few games after Le'Veon got back McNabb said he declined and isn't the same RB. Now he's saying he might be the best in the league...

    Child please

I laughed at that too, but honestly, I cannot even consider the guy a serious analyst. He was in the league like 10 years and did not know a game could end in a tie.

Which is why I don't watch it unless the steelers or Pitt are playing on it. They went full radical left wing SJW instead of keeping politics out of sports. All of their opinions are worthless. Ironic that a "sports" station doesn't know jack about sports. And their ratings and subscriptions show it too. People are tuning out by the millions...and they still won't get it!

Agree 100 percent. They remind me of MTV. I am old enough to remember when MTV was about music. Now I can also say that I remember when ESPN was about sports.

The Bills have given up 200 yards rushing to one RB at least three times this year (Ajayi x2 and Bell). Yikes.

Their run defence is shockingly bad at the moment. I hope Rex hasn't made long term plans.

Can you even imagine if this happened here? Among certain "fans" there would be MUCH more talk about Tomlin (the players don't respect him, he's not a real coach, he's lost control, etc...) than there would be about the players defying their coaches orders. I don't remember ever seeing something like this. It's mind-boggling that they'd just straight up ignore the HCs gameplan.

Brief moment of silence today for Derek Carr and the Raiders. What a blow...the NFL is better when the Raiders are good imo

On a lighter note, Merry Christmas all! GO STEELERS!!!! :tt2:

Trust me I'm not, I'm very nervous about this game. Really don't have a good feeling about it. Hurting in pass game options for Ben and DL......Hope Tuitt can tough it out....

Not sure about the Raiders, but the league is surely better when young stars like Carr (and Mariota) are playing. Both were sad to see, although Carr's surely has a bigger impact on his team and the playoffs.

That would be correct. And Miami would likely have Matt Moore as QB.

The number 2 seed surely would be a lot more beatable with Carr out.
